DC-Based Modular Building Startup Debuts Model Unit at HUD’s Innovative Housing Showcase
Tomu’s Studio Villa displayed on the National Mall drew government delegates, developers, and investors
WASHINGTON, DC & FREDERICK, MD – Tomu concluded the public debut of its model Studio Villa modular dwelling this past weekend at the Innovative Housing Showcase on the National Mall in Washington, DC. The Showcase, presented by the Department of Housing & Urban Development and the National Association of Home Builders, was a three-day event featuring new building technologies and housing solutions that are making housing more innovative, resilient, and affordable. More than 3000 people, including policymakers, housing industry representatives, media, and the general public, were in attendance.
The Studio Villa is the launch product of Tomu’s line of modular dwellings inspired by European and Asian living styles and designed to be multi-purpose across residential and hospitality use. The line consists of a studio, 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom floor plans that are prefabricated and shipped near-complete to the buyers’ chosen site, with only minimal on-site assembly and finish work required.
Three Villa sizes are available:
Studio Villa – 20’ x 24’ (approx. 480 square feet) starting at $99,500
1-Bedroom Villa – 40’ x 24’ (approx. 960 square feet) starting at $179,500
2-Bedroom Villa – 60’ x 24’ (approx. 1440 square feet) starting at $259,500
Pricing includes the finished modules ready to be set on-site with select add-ons available.
